“Hey, I am Shibin from the batch 2015-2019. Currently working with Techstars Ventures as Global Startup Analyst for 50+ startup accelerators across the world. I can never forget the contributions of the IT department & my faculties towards helping me to explore and experiment with different career opportunities during my college days. They do really care about students who want to do challenging and exceptional things in their careers, especially in entrepreneurship and innovation.”
“The B.Tech programme offered by the Department of IT at CUSAT provided a solid foundation to start my career in the Software Industry. The courses offered are an eclectic mix of theoretical and practical aspects of Software Engineering. The pedagogy is in sync with the industry standard and equips students well to solve real-world challenges. At Cochin University, I have developed a lifelong love for learning, which is still helping me grow and stay on top of the dynamic IT industry.”
“The four years of my life at CUSAT have been nothing but perfect in its own impeccable way. The teachers pushed me in my studies as well as the extracurricular activities of conducting coding classes, helping me build a strong community of code lovers which I nurture with all my love and care. The whole experience of pursuing my interest and living my life at the campus has built the person I am today.”
“Having spent four years in this esteemed institution, I have witnessed a tremendous change in my life, may it be on the academic front or even on a personal level. The campus, surrounded by beautiful greenery provides an ideal platform for growth and improvement leading to the formation of bright young individuals determined to make an impact in the coming future.”
“Looking back, I have fond memories of my engineering days at CUSAT. Along with a good, holistic and relevant curriculum, the faculty also made sure we had an inclusive and enabling environment for learning and growth. The IT Fests and other events conducted under the guidance of the department played a strong part in developing our interpersonal, organisational and leadership skills. Also, thanks to the campus recruitment program at CUSAT, I was able to kickstart my career with TCS right after my engineering course. Indeed proud to be an alumnus of CUSAT, BTech IT!”
“I am a proud alumnus of SOE, Cusat and I belong to the second batch of IT (1999-2003) which consisted of 80 enthusiastic batchmates from diverse backgrounds. Success is a journey, not the destination and SOE has been consistent in making our journey mesmerizing. It is the place that shaped us to the place which we are right now. In our four years in this wonderful institute, SOE has given us the chance to explore our potentials without inhibitions, build our skills and evolve in diverse domains. State of the art and well-managed computing facilities, knowledgeable faculty, good student-faculty ratio, and a solid base of theory cum practical based learning approaches have made the overall experience at SOE an enriching one. To any new student coming to SOE, Cusat, I would say this- “take every chance you get here, because the memories you make here, are going to last you a lifetime.” For anyone who yearns to learn, to explore, and to evolve, SOE is indeed the place to be.”
“At CUSAT, I learnt the value of taking risks, ownership, and having single minded focus, when we conducted our own state wide IT fest. Creating our own campus video when the norm was a two page brochure and to convince the IT corridors of Technopark was a case study in taking bold steps and aiming higher. My class representative experience was the first lessons in leadership and how to handle different voices and reach a productive conclusion. The mix of arts, sports and games along with academics gave me the right perspective and balance. I carried forward some of those perspectives into my professional career, where I could balance between core business objectives and a great place to work. Camaraderie and friendships I enjoyed during those years gave me life long lessons in human relationships, which I maintain to this day.”
I am proud and honoured to be associated with such a prestigious institution. The connections and relationships formed during the time have provided immense support during the thick and thin of my personal and professional life. I am immensely thankful to have known and spent time which such incredible fellow students, teachers and staff. The experiences and lessons learned taught me to stay humble in adversities and successes. I look forward to supporting the current and future generations of students and the institution to the best of my abilities.
I am an Electrical and Electronics Engineering graduate from SOE, CUSAT. Being associated with the youngest branch on campus back then, was a pleasure for me. While the syllabus, lab, curriculum is updated regularly to equip the students with relevant, contemporary skills, what really stood out for me were the teachers. Their knowledge, experience coupled with patience and teaching style created an innovative and encouraging space for young engineers
For the last decade of my life, I have been benefiting greatly from the outstanding mentoring I received while pursuing my Electrical and Electronics Engineering Bachelors of Technology at the School of Engineering, CUSAT. My bachelors study induced an interdisciplinary research mindset and over the years I got to learn and carry out research in topics such as distributed cloud computing, computer vision, artificial intelligence, and even neuroscience. Now, after my doctoral studies, I am working as a postdoctoral researcher at the Hillman Cancer Center at UPMC in Pittsburgh, USA where I am taking yet another step in my interdisciplinary journey, towards developing AI algorithms to study spatially distinct genomic profiles and microenvironments of tumors, infectious, and viral diseases.
I earned my graduation in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from CUSAT. I was lucky enough to get two job offers of which, one in the IT sector and the second one in the manufacturing industry and I chose the latter one without any hesitation. The teachers in CUSAT ensure that the students develop an interest in the subject rather than just obtaining a certificate. This helped me in achieving something which I could never imagine in my life. In Railways, my present work requires a techno-managerial person which I can proudly say, I inherited a part from my campus life at CUSAT.
Attending School of engineering was an incredible journey. The environment fostered my growth, providing exceptional resources and a supportive community that inspired both academic excellence and personal development. The diverse opportunities and engaging faculty truly shaped my collegiate experience into an unforgettable chapter of learning and self-discovery
Being part of the pioneer batch of B Tech Safety and Fire Engineering at the School of Engineering, Cochin University (CUSAT), is a privilege I will always cherish. I am deeply grateful to the university for shaping me into the person I am today—professionally competent, confident, and purpose-driven. CUSAT is more than just an academic institution; it is a sacred ground where raw potential is nurtured through discipline, knowledge, and relentless effort. It transforms students into leaders and dreamers into doers. Even today, each visit back—especially during campus recruitment—reminds me of the extraordinary calibre of students being moulded within these walls. Meeting such talented and passionate individuals reaffirms my belief that the legacy of excellence we began is in inspiring hands. All the best to CUSAT School of Engineering placement cell and students.
The Safety and Fire Engineering at Cochin University of Science and Technology provided a solid foundation, propelling me into a rewarding career in environmental engineering. The curriculum, along with practical projects, imparted technical knowledge, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to each and every graduate of this program.
